Are yours hot Bill?

This episode the intrepid duo are joined by NYbill Moderator for the Linux Outlaws forum and all round good guy even if he is a gun toting monkey.

Matt reveals his secret liaisons with Linux community members and having slap up meals while generally wasting the shows GimickCoins on expensive evenings with Red Hat employees while Pete sits at home watching the clock.

We hear the thoughts on virtual attendance of oggcamp from Bill and what it was like following events via identi.ca and Google+ (Even though Bill doesn’t use G+). The teams main discussion is a continuation of Lugs and how they work in America. We also hear how listeners such as Becky Newborough have got off their bums and done something about resurrecting their local lug.

Yet again we hit the dreaded sound problems, we’ve cleaned it as best we can. Please struggle through and we’ll make it up to you all in EP10.

P.S. Dirk Gently is cool.

OggCamp 2011

The intrepid TDTRS team descend on OggCamp 2011 intent on doing very little least of all recording a show. Matt was accosted by long haired bearded geeks obviously with some mental disorder demanding we record a show. After much nashing of teeth we approached the Linux Outlaws and Ubuntu UK Podcast team and asked if they would mind if we did a show.

Given Matt and Pete had no equipment with them The Community rallied round and scraped together Mic’s and recording devices. A very special thanks goes to biglesp who glided round unfazed by Pete’s demands for better rooms, numerous microphones and a basket of fresh dairy produce.

While normally the show would be edited to make it easier on the ear we have decided to release the raw recording as a lot of fun things went on prior to Dan Lynch finally getting the main mixer desk to play nicely.

Thank you OggCamp 2011 we love you!

Still ‘pumped’ from EP6 the team step up to the bar for EP7. A shorter show this time for reasons that will be revealed early on in the episode.

In this release we hear how Matt is going camping in an effort to test his survival skills for OggCamp. Pete explains how he killed the feed for the show and yet doesn’t give us one of his pathetic apologies.

We hear the thoughts on freetards and lusers and question all name calling is it a case of “The pot calling the kettle black?” Matt decides to pick a fight with community giant Bkuhn in the new section “I hate your blog” and Pete does his best to blame Matt and look as innocent as possible.

Pete tells us how he went round The Pope’s house for tea and nearly got arrested. And an email from NYbill spawns a discussion on FOSS events both in the US and UK.
